Ditch the pump, Harness the sun; and enjoy your EV Fleet’s Guide to free fuelling.
To be blunt, running commercial fleets right now is a financial rollercoaster that you probably didn’t queue for. One day, diesel’s expensive, the next, it’s eye-wateringly so…..and grid electricity? It’s like a slot machine every time you plug in a van. This isn’t exactly the stable, predictable cost your Finance Director is dreaming of.
What if, you were able to ‘lock-in’ your fleet’s ‘fuel’ price for the next 25 years? And what if that price was, for all intents and purposes, free? Well….
Welcome to the Hi Rize Blueprint: Powering your EV Fleet with sunshine – the sun is literally paying. It’s not just smart; it’s bordering on genius – and we’re here to make it very simple.

Why? More than just positive vibes (though there are many….)
This isn’t just about saving the polar bears (though they’ll certainly be pretty happy) – it’s a brutal, bottom-line business decision with an ESG cherry on the top.
The Economic Logic: Or, How to make your CFO delighted.
Let’s do the maths that matters – no complex equations or quadratics – let’s just talk pence per mile.
Diesel
Modern diesel vans get circa. 12-15 miles per litre….with diesel hovering around £1.50/litre. This works out at 10-12.5p per mile. And, it’s only going up!
Sun-Powered EV (The Hi Rize Way)
This is some Hi Rize magic. As soon as your solar array is on the roof of your warehouse, distribution centre or commercial office – the sunlight is free. The cost is in the infrastructure itself. During the 25+ year life of the system, the cost of that solar electricity could be as low as 3-5p/kWh….meaning your cost per mile drops drastically to less than 1-1.6p per mile.
Grid-Charged EV
Electric Vans are far more efficient. Let’s say it does 3 miles per kWh. Charging from the grid at a cheap overnight rate of, say, 20p/kWh, costs you circa 6.7p per mile. Better!? But, you’re still at the mercy of the grid.
